Deluxe Coffeeworks has been roasting in Cape Town since 2009, and the espresso bar on Buitenkant St still runs on the same no-nonsense, ‘always grindin’’ energy. The House Blend is the workhorse — Guatemala, Tanzania and Brazil, built to hold up black or in milk, all chocolate, caramel and hazelnut praline. Single origins rotate through a washed Tanzania Utengule off the Mbeya highlands and a fully-washed Guatemala from the Barillas estate, with a CO2-process Colombia decaf for the after-dark crowd.
