Royal Coffee Roasters has been roasting in-house in Alberton since 2013, turning imported beans from across Africa and South America into a broad, everyday-friendly range. The signature Royal Espresso is a dark-roast blend — toasted nuts, caramel and dark chocolate — while single origins lean medium-dark, from a floral, apricoty Ethiopia to a certified-organic Honduras with a marzipan sweetness. They import a new small-batch coffee to roast every month, and it tends to sell fast.
