SA's first Fairtrade roaster — African single origins, bought direct from farmers.
Bean There is South Africa's first roaster of Certified Fairtrade coffee, started by siblings Jonathan and Sarah Robinson in a Joburg garage in 2005. They roast African beans only, buying direct from producer cooperatives in seven countries — Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania, Uganda and the DRC — and paying the farmers directly. Each origin gets its own roast profile to draw out its character, from Ethiopia's floral citrus to Rwanda's creamy toffee. Fairtrade, Ecocert organic and Rainforest Alliance certified.
